Sustainability fun fact: Denverites are also taking the roads by bike! This Colorado city is currently experimenting with three pilot programs that pay locals to bike instead of drive.

Sustainability fun fact: Local artists are leading the way to sustainability in San Jose. The city recently announced a new program, San Jose Climate Art, that engages artists, creative producers and culture-makers to lead the way to carbon neutrality. In their pilot year, the program is developing a Resilient Artist Cohort, Carbon Neutral Creative Network and Resource hub to help raise awareness about carbon neutrality in San Jose.

Sustainability fun fact: Boston students will soon be leading the sustainability charge. The city is focusing on making sustainable changes at public schools with programs that focus on improving indoor air quality, drinking water access and efficiency.

Sustainability fun fact: Parking your car in San Francisco is a daunting task. The city is killing two birds with one stone by offering low-income residents access to $1,000 rebates on e-bikes to help decrease air pollution.

Sustainability fun fact: Sacramento, known to some as the “city of trees,” will be expanding its tree repertoire thanks to a grassroots effort called The Meadowview Urban Tree Project (MUTP). To reduce pollution in the Duwamish Valley, Seattle launched an electric truck pilot program aimed at replacing many of the 4,000 diesel drayage trucks that transport goods from cargo ships to rail yards in the area.
